MOUNTAIN BIKE INDIANA ANNOUNCES NEW Deam Lake to Henryville TRAIL PROJECT IN INDIANA STATE FOREST –
In 2019 Mountain Bike Indiana (MBI) had meetings with the Director of the DNR Division of Forestry, John Seifert, to discuss trail opportunities in Indiana.
One of the trails will be nearly 24 miles of Mt Bike designated trail. MBI in conjunction with Forestry leaders have designed the Clark/Deam connector from Schlamm Lake, Henryville, IN south to Deam Lake. The north trailhead will be Schlamm Lake & the south trailhead will be Deam Lake.
State Forest Management Policy – State forests are managed under a policy of multiple use in order to obtain benefits of recreation, forest products, watershed protection, wildlife habitat, and aesthetics. The growth and harvest of timber is planned to be compatible with ecosystem management, and to retain the many benefits that forests naturally provide.
Schlamm Lake is northwest of
Henryville, In on Winding Rd & west of I-65.
Deam Lake is located at 1217 Deam Lake Road
Borden, IN 47106

This sounds like a great opportunity for a long weekend bikepacking trip. Will it be newly built trail or use existing trails/logging roads?
